Following their meeting yesterday, I distributed draft budget
documents to our university presidents for their review and comment.
Without looking at it, one glanced up and me and asked if he’d be happy
with what he saw. I wasn't sure how to respond and I guess I hesitated a bit too long, so he chuckled and offered this sage advice:
“Just remember, Mark, effective leadership is keeping everyone minimally dissatisfied.”
Sums up my job perfectly.
